Konninkliijke Jumbo B.V is one of Europe’s leading toy companies with a focus on games and puzzles. Founded in the Netherlands in 1853 it is a subsidiary of the JumboDiset Group with approximately 130 employees.
Headquarters are in the Netherlands with offices in Belgium, Germany and the UK – each selling to its own market. There is also an export department which handles sales to other parts of the world.
The Jumbo Group had successfully been using JD Edwards ERP solutions for 14 years to manage stock levels and factory production information.
However, they realized the benefits of upgrading to take advantage of new functionality. It was important that the new system could manage the organizational structure of the Jumbo Group, which sells its products independently to clients across Europe, and via an export department for global sales. The goal of the upgrade was to minimize customizations and to ensure consistent data across the group. Investment was required to optimize the system to comply with IBAN regulations, to enable international payments.
The Jumbo Group decided to upgrade to Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One. They chose Redfaire International as their partner because of their manufacturing ERP expertise and prior positive experience working together.
Careful testing in conjunction with Jumbo Group meant that delivery was complete well in advance of the peak period, including compliance with IBAN regulations.
Compared to the cost of switching to another ERP system, upgrading Oracle JD Edwards was excellent value. The system will continue to offer future efficiencies, with potential for additional modules and applications like One View Reporting and CRM.
