JD Edwards 9.2 & Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Building Solid foundations for the future

CH&CO chose Redfaire to upgrade and modernize their ERP and IT infrastructure.  The project was undertaken during lockdown. Delivering this ambitious project on time and on budget with no on-site or face-to-face meetings demanded flexibility, resilience, and ingenuity.

Thanks to strong teamwork, collaboration, and a shared vision, the project was successfully delivered despite the challenging context of a global pandemic.

“The Redfaire team are committed, flexible and are always willing to go the extra mile. This is a project that should be held up as a genuine example of what can be achieved despite extreme conditions.”

Rob Lee,
Head of Information Security, Cyber and Infrastructure, CH&CO

The company is growing organically and through acquisitions. IT is key to facilitating this growth and delivering strong ROI.

Customer Challenge

A modern, robust, scalable IT system is a key pillar of CH&CO's strategy.

The question was, how to deliver this complex, strategic project when everyone had to work remotely because of Covid-19?

From January to June 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic, Redfaire and CH&CO:

  • Upgraded JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 to the latest version, 9.2.
  • Moved JD Edwards ERP onto Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Implemented Oracle’s Virtual Database (Extreme Performance) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Successfully completing a transformative project like this on time and on budget is quite an achievement. That the teams were able to do this despite the challenges of the Covid-19 lockdown is testimony to the strong partnership and skills of Redfaire’s consultants and CH&CO’s internal team.

  • Extensive experience of migrating JD Edwards to the Oracle Cloud.

“Redfaire not only delivered but exceeded expectations. It was a pleasure to work with the Redfaire team. They combined technical excellence with a deep understanding of how this project fits with our strategic business objectives.”

The goal of the 2020 project was to lay a solid foundation to support future business growth and to ensure that the company is well positioned to exploit opportunities offered by Cloud, Mobile and AI.
